Unlike your average grid girl agency, all our pit lane models have been auditioned and interviewed prior to working for our team. This means we can ensure they will be suitable to work with us and for you, our client. We rehearse with the promotional staff for grid duties and fully brief them to ensure all work place standards are maintained. We make sure your promotional staff are appropriately selected and the outfits they wear.
What are grid girls, pit lane girls or umbrella girls?
Grid Girls, pit lane girls or umbrella girls are terms that have been used in professional motorcycle racing and Formula 1 for many years. It refers to young women employed to hold umbrellas above racers to protect them from the sun. Before the start of a race the riders/drivers have to pull up onto their grid and wait for all the other racers to take their places on the line. The riders/drivers hold on the grid until all pre-race checks, adjustments and fueling have been completed.
Grid girls are also typically used to advertise the sponsors of their race team. Also known as promotional models, they usually range from 18-30 and are models. They attract attention by wearing tight fitted clothing (often short and revealing) which sport the logo/design of the sponsors.
