Case Study: Event Support Staff for The Events Company’s Summer Fun Days
The Project
Summer is peak season for company fun days, and The Events Company keeps a busy calendar of them, building family fun days and team challenge events for corporate clients up and down the country. This year we supported that calendar by supplying event support staff across a run of bookings through August and September, stepping in wherever an extra pair of hands was needed to keep a stall running or an activity moving.
The bookings varied in size and setting, from a single member of staff looking after a small inflatable at a workplace fun day, to a team of five helping run a full funfair stall for a company celebration, through to crew supporting a team building challenge. What tied them together was the brief itself, provide reliable staff who could turn up, get stuck in and help The Events Company’s own activities run smoothly for the guests on the day.

Our Approach
Fun day staffing is a different discipline to a formal exhibition or a branded activation. The atmosphere is relaxed, the crowd is often colleagues and their families rather than the general public, and the job is genuinely hands on. Our staff worked classic fairground favourites such as hook a duck and shooting gallery stalls, kept inflatables running safely and helped guide guests through team challenge activities, all while keeping the friendly, easygoing energy that a good fun day needs.
Appearance was kept simple and consistent across every booking, a plain black top with smart black trousers or jeans, so staff looked tidy and professional without ever feeling out of place at what is, at its heart, a relaxed family event. Each booking came with its own event manager on site, and our staff were briefed to check in on arrival and work to that manager’s lead for the day, fitting straight into The Events Company’s existing setup rather than needing to be managed separately.
Because these events run across a single afternoon or evening rather than a long campaign, flexibility mattered just as much as reliability. Numbers moved from booking to booking, sometimes just one person, sometimes a team of five, and staff needed to be ready to help with whatever the stall or activity in front of them called for on the day, whether that meant running a game, keeping queues moving or simply making sure guests were having a good time.
The Result
Across the summer, we supplied event support staff for family fun days and team challenges at venues from the Midlands down to Hampshire, covering everything from small inflatable activities to full funfair stalls and team building sessions. Every booking was filled with staff who arrived ready to work, dressed correctly and happy to get involved with whatever the activity needed, and each one ran without a hitch for The Events Company’s clients.
For The Events Company, that meant a staffing partner they could call on booking by booking, confident that whoever turned up would represent their brand well and help their own team deliver the day their client was paying for. For us, it was a reminder that not every assignment needs to be a headline exhibition to matter, sometimes the job is simply helping a hook a duck stall run smoothly for an afternoon, and doing that well is exactly the kind of reliable, no fuss support we like to be known for.
