Exhibitions Coming up in January at the NEC, ExCeL and Olympia LondonExhibitions Coming up in January at the NEC, ExCeL and Olympia London

The run-up to Christmas is always a busy time and if you think January is quiet, think again! Most major exhibition and conference venues across the UK have a clutch of events slated for the first month of 2021. What can we expect from the NEC, ExCeL London and what events are coming up at Olympia London?

Events January The NEC Birmingham

Having recently announced yet another huge investment to develop the site further over the coming years, the NEC has its foot to the floor and not waiting for the others to catch up.

Kicking off 2019 are three big shows – the LAMMA show, a must for anyone in the agricultural sector, and two shows running at the same time, Autosport International 2019 and the Performance and Car Tuning Show.

Just as the motor shows close, the halls at the NEC transform themselves into The National Running Show 2019. A two-day event that covers everything any runner could possibly need, this promises to be a busy show.

The BETA International Show sees a brief return to the world of agriculture but specifically this time in relation to everything equestrian. Again, a show that promises product launches and exciting innovations for those in working and living in rural communities.

The January Furniture Show is always a great event, with plenty of new, emerging and established talent giving an insight into interior design trends and fashions coming our way in during 2019.

Just as unique is the only show dedicated to the printwear industry, the Printwear and Promotion Show Live! 2019. Every brand and business understands the importance of liveried staff and branding, so no wonder this show returns yet again to bring the latest innovation in printwear to businesses across the UK.

January at the NEC ends with two food shows – the Food Service Show and the Professional Kitchen Show. It’s no surprise that these shows, both in their infancy in terms of appearances on the NEC calendar, it is no wonder they are becoming established. The continued popularity of shows such as BBC MasterChef and The Great British Bake Off to name just two means that as a nation, we are hooked by delights in the kitchen. With top chefs, displays, seminars and plenty of must-have kitchen gadgets on offer, these shows offer something for both the commercial and the domestic cook and baker.

Events January ExCeL London

After a busy year-end, ExCeL is easing themselves into 2019 with two events. Having said that, both are considered specialist events and leaders in their field.

From the 12th to the 14th January, 100% Optical is an event that draws specialists from across the world of opticians and ophthalmology. As well as the latest scientific innovations and some amazing equipment being launched, there are also major eyewear brands showing their latest collections. A mix of both specialist science and commercial edge meet at this event.

The 100% Optical even is followed closely by another specialist show, the London leg of the Oracle OpenWorld Europe. There are many changes in the business world and this series examines how these impact on every business, online and otherwise. With keynote speakers, seminars and exhibitions from leading global brands, this is an event not to be missed.

Events January Olympia London

Like the NEC, Olympia London’s calendar is jam-packed with a range of events, trade shows and exhibitions that attract a diverse range of attendees and exhibitors – and January is no different.

There seem to be two themes guiding the choice of shows at Olympia London in January – interior design and travel.

The Top Drawer event is a cluster of new and emerging talent in the field of interior design and designer furniture, with the Fashion SVP event a few days later showcasing designers in the world of fashion. The Architect @ Work showcases later in the month the talent of handpicked contributors, a must for architects and designers within the field.

The travel shows include the France Show, a chance to sample everything from our European neighbours from style to food. Likewise, both the Destinations Show and the Adventure Travel Show earlier in the month highlight what countries across the globe offer in terms of adventure, no matter what your travel budget.

But right in the middle of the month is one of the most important trade fairs for the retail sector – The Toy Fair. If you make, design or import toys, this is the London show you need to be at to fill your order books for the coming year.
