volunteering at dogs trustFeel Good Factor – Doing Voluntary Work for Dogs Trust

Envisage Promotions has always sold the idea to its in house staff of the benefits of doing voluntary work in the community. There are so many positives to come out of doing something for an organisation with no strings attached, just offering your time to help a charity do some positive work and raise some much needed cash and brand awareness.
This weekend, 5 members of the Envisage team gave up their Sunday to join the Dogs Trust at one of their roadshows at Hatton World in Warwick, Warwickshire.
It’s worth mentioning that all the Envisage team are dog lovers and most dog owners so they all jumped at the chance when we mentioned joining dogs trust to help them out.
Our team were basically working as Promotional Staff for the day and following the briefing at 9.30am we were allocated our duties and areas.

Two of the team (Bradley and Lee) were on meet and greet. They were asked to approach everyone that arrived to give them a flyer which detailed the activities happening throughout the day. It was brilliant. Everyone that arrived was delighted to be there and everyone had their dog with them. Bradley and Lee heard so many wonderful stories of how they got their dog from Dogs Trust in Kenilworth  and how the new family member had made such a difference to their lives. The guys also spend a good few hours giving love and being loved by hundreds of dogs throughout the morning.

The other members of the Envisage team attending (Rory, George and Nichola) were on raffle sales from a stand and they were absolutely all over it. They were out and about getting people to buy the tickets and then buy some more “It’s all for an amazing charity!” “Dig Deep!”. There were some great doggy treats for prizes and even some goodies for the dog owners…Something for everyone!

Rescue Dog at Dogs TRustA great day with lots to do at Dogs trust Fun Day

There was so much going on during the day including fun dog shows, games marquee, dog activities area, raffle, tombola, dog races and a BBQ. The fire service made an appearance which the kids loved and the dog shows included prettiest dog which Kira,  the Envisage dog, came second out of 78 other dogs…We were so proud!

Team Bonding – There is nothing better

At the end of the day everyone was shattered but the team were also buzzing. A great day out was had by all with lots of laughs and the feeling of immense pride at doing our bit to help the charity. The staff were still talking about it the next day and looking out for other volunteering activities Envisage could get involved with. So if you are looking for a team event at work that everyone can join in, have a look at a little volunteering, you never know, it could just be what your company needs to bring everyone together.
