The Tour of Britain is a multi-stage cycling race that takes place throughout Britain. During the events various teams compete to finish the event in the overall fastest time. The event originates back to just after the second world war, over the years the event has been named various things such as Milk Race, Kellogg’s Tour and PruTour. The current tour as we know it began in 2004. The first multi-day stage race in the UK was called the Southern Grand Prix which took place in Kent on August 1944. The tour itself attracts bigger crowd’s year on year, largely down to the HUGE success of team Sky with giants of the sport such as Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome participating.
This year Envisage were tasked with supplying a team of catering, promotional and brand ambassador staff to assist with all eight locations. Each stage including (Castle Douglas, Kendal, Tatton Park, Builth Wells, Bath, Haytor, Bristol and London). Each stage varied from anything from two staff members through to twenty-two. Our staff were placed on the finish line area of each stage and were tasked with providing a VIP experience for delegates in attendance. Catering staff ensured the flow of food to the buffet, hospitality staff ensured delegates had a VIP experience whilst working alongside the bar staff. As with all large scale events Envisage assign a designated Event Manager to manage the team and liaise directly between yourself and your team.
