stay safe when working outdoorsThe summer is almost upon us, this means sunshine and music!

In the words of DJ Jazzy and the Fresh Prince “summer, summer, summertime – time to sit back and unwind.”

With all the fun, it’s good to keep in the back of your mind these simple tips for keeping safe and having a good time!

These tips will help any of our staff members who are looking to attend or even work during one of these summer events!

1# Always factor up

Sunscreen is always recommended when working or attending, as Britain is set-up to face a summer heatwave. We always recommend using FPS factor 30+ and Aloe Vera based sunscreen. This can prevent any short-term soreness and long-term skin damage.

2# H2O goodness!

Keeping hydrated is essential during the sun (or mud) especially when working or dancing. As water makes up 60% of our body, it’s vital we keep it topped up! To maintain your best level, we suggest you drink up to eight glasses of water, this means taking a water bottle with you and knowing hydration stations. Please see the following link for more advise: https://www.nhsinform.scot/campaigns/hydration

3# Beware, what to wear!

When packing or preparing your adventures, we suggest looking at the forecast before your travels, or even look out of your window before setting off. When temperatures rise, we recommend wearing light clothing, shorts, t-shirts/polo’s, hats and sunglasses (remember 1#). Meanwhile, when the sun sets and the sun goes to sleep, temperatures can drop, so remember to pack a sweatshirt or light-coat. Vice versa, if it’s raining, remember to grab your cagoule (raincoat), boot or wellies.
