Hire Promotional Staff for Halloween EventsHire Promotional Staff for Halloween Events

Twenty or so years ago, Halloween wasn’t a hugely popular festival celebrated in the UK.

But today, it is an annual event that is attracting more attention. For example, a recent survey found that younger adults, aged 18 to 34, were highly likely to celebrate Halloween.

But what is this celebration all about and how can hiring promotional staff make your Halloween event even better?

What is Halloween all about?

October 31st is known as the eve of All Saints’ Day, the origins of which have been lost in the midst of time. There is thought to be a link with the Celtic festival Samhain, during which ghosts and spirits were believed ‘to be abroad’. Past cultures have often been suspicious of saints and ghosts and so having a period of time where you could celebrate and live life without being bothered by spirits was a time to enjoy!

Today, whether you believe in ghosts or not, Halloween is considered a chance to enjoy a party with friends and family. Increasingly, we are seeing more Halloween events across the UK.

Any event attended by the public needs to be organised well, with attention paid to details including health and safety and security. As part of event planning and risk assessment, you may find that your public attended Halloween event will benefit from hired promotional staff, as well as stewards and marshals.

Hiring professional staff for s-c-a-r-y Halloween events!

Promotional staff and services are not just about selling things to people…

  • Meet and greet staff – welcoming people to your event sets the right tone for your event and you can do that with meet and greet staff. As well as checking tickets and handing out wristbands, they can also provide paying guests with information on the event, where to go and so on.
  • Costumed performers – Halloween events should be fun with plenty of scary bits to make people laugh and scream! And that’s why hiring performers and actors make sense. From dressing as ghosts to other scary characters, they can make sure that everyone enjoys your Halloween event.
  • Marshals and stewards – at some Halloween events, such as walking through a haunted castle, you’ll need to keep the crowd of people moving but also keep an eye out for hazards and risks. Trained marshals and stewards will work to the brief set as well as being responsive to when things change, taking the action needed to make sure everyone enjoys the event. Marshals and stewards can also be used as part of car park management and traffic management at the venue too.
  • Event security – it may not be at the top of your list (you may even assume that you don’t need event security) but it can make a difference knowing that if issues do arise, you have SIA licensed event security staff on hand to deal with it.
  • Promotional staffpromotional staff do much more than ‘just sell stuff’. They can interact with the public at your event, making sure that they can access everything they need but also act as information people, guiding people to where they need to be.
