Why should I give the best Check-in experience possible?

Remember, for your guests this is the first interaction of your event. It is cliché, but you only get one chance at a first impression.

Having a warm smile and an attentive FOH team will really set the day for your guests. If they have a bad experience from the off, you will have an uphill battle to win them over to your event.

Top steps to give the best check-in process

  1.  Train your event staff – Each event has a unique system for check-in book your staff to arrive at least one hour before your first guests to ensure that they fully understand your procedures.
  2.  Match the staff to the event – How your staff are presented is key. If your event is ComicCon you may want to consider different approaches than a b2b event for example.
  3.  Help Desk – Key to good experience is to be able to find support if you need it. Put your most experienced team on help desk to manage queries.
  4.  Clear Roles – Make sure that each member of your team has a clearly defined role.
  5.  Check in tech – With so many apps to manage this, take the time to source an app that caters for your needs.
  6.  Self Check in – Make sure to offer both human and computer check in options. But they are great to keep the queue moving for those willing.
  7.  QR Codes – This allows for a swift and easy check-in every time.
  8.  Internet bandwidth – Guests now expect high quality Wi-Fi onsite. Crucially, your team will need a strong connection for their check in server.
